“My upbringing is why I am the person I am today. I have very wise parents.” – Keira Knightley
You can probably not count anymore how often you cursed your parents for being who they are. Maybe your dad was not reasonable when you asked him to go out and perhaps your mom embarrassed you by covering you in kisses when you left on a school trip. When you grow older, you understand that your dad was just trying to protect you and your mom was only showing that she loved you and would miss you.
Parenting is something you learn as you go. No one prepares you for it and no one teaches you how it works. There are no parenting courses available. It just comes naturally and every parent puts in his or her own touch. We should all be grateful for what our parents did for us and for all the sacrifices they made so that we could succeed in this life. As much as it is important to become yourself, you will always be influenced by your parents’ beliefs and opinions. Therefore, a lot of who you are and what you believe in, comes from your parents.
